Newport Polo Club Invites You….

You don’t have to play polo to enjoy the hospitality of the Newport Polo Club and the festive occasion of international visitors!  To fête some of our most popular teams from overseas, the Newport International Polo Series invites its fans and polo enthusiasts to join the fun.  Please note:

  1. Each of these events require advanced purchase.

  2. Capacity is limited, and we may sell out before the cut-off date to make a reservation.

  3. There is a cut-off date for reservations to each event, to due to catering commitments
     

Therefore, don't wait until the last minute to make your reservations!

Asado Lamb Roast ~ Sat., July 24th       
          Following USA vs. Ireland match    Authentic Argentine tradition of spit-roasting lamb for hours over hot coals until it is fork-tender, has become a part of international polo culture, $35/members and $40/non-members. Cash bar. Dinners must be paid in advance by 7/22; limited capacity.  Call  401-787-1768 for reservations or email.  Polo match tickets sold separately at the gate.

This tradition has been popularized by the influence of the Argentine culture on polo, just as Argentine players have made a dominant impact on the sport itself.  It features fresh lamb, slow-roasted and basted for hours with famous chimi churi sauce to the utmost of tenderness - a satisfying delicacy after a hard-fought match, and a flavor you will savor long after.      


 


International Polo Charity Ball ~ Friday August 6th
 
On the eve of  the USA vs. Australia match, the Newport Polo Club will host its annual International Polo Charity
Ball
with guests of honor, the Australian Polo Team.   Themed Surfin' Safari this year to celebrate life down under, the event will raise money for Wounded Warrior Project.

New England Lobsterbake ~ Sat., Aug. 6th 
    
 Following the USA vs. Australia polo match
  the biggest weekend of the polo season will culminate with an authentic New
England Lobsterbake by none other than legendary McGrath's Clambake Co.  This unique culinary tradition
calls for locally harvested seafood & produce 'baked'  over a bed hot coals under a blanket of seaweed, prepared and served field-side.

 5PM match, 7:30PM dinner served field-side, under the tent

The authentic New England lobsterbake never fails to satisfy.  ‘Baked’ field-side, served under the tent, this annual club tradition is tasty and fun.  Dinners must be paid in advance by 8/5.  $50/person.  Cash bar.

Jamaican Jerk Grill ~ Saturday, Aug. 21st
           
Following USA vs. Jamaica polo match
   The Jamaican Polo Team are one of the most popular teams for their horsemanship and exciting play.  Join us for a cultural dining experience with the team after the match as a Jerk Grill Dinner is served up field-side (menu).   

5PM match, 7:30PM dinner served field-side, under the tent

Authentic Jamaican jerk pork, chicken, goat, etc. served with an assortment of traditional side dishes.   A fun party with the Jamaican team.  Cash bar.
