Newport Polo Club Invites Fans….

You don’t have to play polo to enjoy the hospitality of the Newport Polo Club and enjoy the festive occasion of our international guests.  To fête some of our most popular visitors from abroad, the Newport International Polo Series invites its fans and polo enthusiasts to join the fun:

            

Jamaican Jerk Grill ~ Saturday, Aug. 16th
Following USA vs. Jamaica polo match    The Jamaican Polo Team are one of the most popular teams for their horsemanship and exciting play.  Join us for a cultural dining experience with the team after the match as a Jerk Grill Dinner is served up field-side (menu).   

5PM match, 7:30PM dinner served field-side, under the tent

Authentic Jamaican jerk pork, chicken, goat, etc. served with an assortment of traditional side dishes.   A fun party with the Jamaican team.  $30/members and $35/non-members. Cash bar. Dinners must be paid in advance by 8/14.   Call 401-847-7090 for reservations.  Polo match tickets sold separately at the gate. 

 

Asado Lamb Roast ~ SOLD OUT Sat., July 19th

Authentic Argentine tradition of spit-roasting lamb for hours over hot coals until it is fork-tender, has become a part of international polo culture, $30/members and $37/non-members. Cash bar. Dinners must be paid in advance, while supplies last.  Call  401-847-7090 for reservations.  Polo match tickets sold separately at the gate.

In tribute to the Irish Polo Team, who has the longest string of appearances in the Newport International Polo Series, participating every year since its inception, the Newport Polo Club offers a traditional Asado lamb roast following the USA vs. Ireland match on Saturday, July 19th.  This tradition is popularized by the influence of the Argentine culture, whose players now dominate the sport of polo, features fresh lamb slow-roasted to the utmost of tenderness, a satisfying delicacy after a hard-fought match. 

 

            New England Lobsterbake ~ SOLD OUT Sat., Aug. 2nd            Following USA vs. Egypt polo match  The social  highlight of the polo season each summer includes the annual International Polo Ball on Friday, August 1st and on the following day a tribute match, featuring     USA vs. Egypt this year, on Saturday, Aug. 2nd, concluded by  an authentic New England Lobsterbake, baked  over hot coals under a bed of seawood, prepared and served field-side.

The authentic New England lobsterbake never fails to satisfy.  ‘Baked’ field-side, served under the tent, this annual club tradition is tasty and fun.  Dinners must be paid in advance by. 7/28.  $30/members and $40/non-members.  Cash bar.  Call 401-847-7090 for reservations.  Polo match tickets sold separately at the gate. 

                  

 International Polo Ball ~ SOLD OUT Friday Aug. 1st
At Rosecliff, Newport's finest mansion

Polo’s 2000-year evolution has spanned the globe. To weave this international culture into the social fabric of our community and support charitable & educational programs, we invite you to join us for the 8th annual International Polo Ball and Tribute Match on Aug.1-2 with the Egyptian Polo Team.  As Winston Churchill once noted so eloquently, polo is your “passport to the world.”

An annual highlight of Newport’s summer social season will be the International Polo Ball on Friday, August 1st with guests of honor, the Egyptian Polo Team.  The black-tie charity gala begins with cocktails and silent auction on the terrace overlooking the gardens and sea.  A seated gourmet Pharaoh’s Feast will follow to preempt a night of dancing in Studio 548.  During the evening a live auction will present fabulous items and exciting getaways from which to bid.

            The gala, themed Friday Night Fever will take place at Rosecliff, one of Newport’s legendary mansions at 548 Bellevue Ave.  Attire is Egyptian-disco black tie.

            Proceeds benefit the Newport Polo Education Foundation, a non-profit 501[3]c organization registered in Rhode Island with a mission to support charitable causes as well as training and educational programs surrounding the sport of polo.

Dinner tickets include cocktails, dinner, & dancing from 7:00pm-midnight.  Dinner seating is limited.
Cocktail tickets are also available for $75/person for dessert, cocktails & dancing from 9:30-midnight.
