Tailgate Contests Sponsored by Bach Decor of Newport

             At three premier matches of Newport International Polo Series' '07 season, tailgate contests will be sponsored by Bach Decor of Newport, one of the newest and most chic vendors in the hospitality area at the matches.

             Bach Decor will offer fabulous prizes to the winners of tailgate contests at the matches on July 21st, August 11 and September 1st.   Judging will take place during the match as the design experts of Bach Decor peruse the general admission tailgating areas around the field.  Criteria will be based on creativity of decoration, tailgate menu, attire and any other imaginative incorporation of the designated theme for the day.

         The themes will be:

• July 21 ~ USA vs. Ireland = whimsical, comical, bright & colorful, frolic.

• Aug. 11 ~ Lufthansa Invitational = Christmas in Summer/Kids Day

• Sept. 1 ~ USA vs. England = poetic English country, Jane Austinesque.

The polo match begins at 5pm (4pm in September) on the polo grounds of Glen Farm on route 138 in Portsmouth , RI and will be approximately 2 hours in duration, followed by a trophy presentation and field-side dinner.  One of the highlights of the season, this annual rivalry will feature USA playing against Ireland , who returns to Newport for their 16^th consecutive match in the Polo Series.
