Born in England, Matthew's polo training began at birth as the son of one of England's top polo professionals.  By his late teen years, Matthew achieved professional player status and began an international polo career that would take him all over the world.

In 1994, he captained the English team that came to play against USA in Newport.  A love affair ensued with our magical 'City by the Sea', which would ultimately bring Matthew to make his home here in Newport in 2002 with the Newport Polo Club.

He served the NPC as Polo Manager in his first season and currently is the head polo instructor for students of all ages and skill levels.   Matthew's outstanding horsemanship, relaxed style and intimate knowledge of the game make him an excellent tutor of polo students as well as polo ponies in training!
