The 2010
polo season is underway, with an exciting
lineup of action-packed polo matches against top
rivals from around the world, recording-setting
audiences & great special events.

Netherlands , making their debut in the Polo Series this

The Newport International Polo Series features
teams from around world competing against USA in thrilling 6-chukker
polo matches, played on gorgeous thoroughbred horses. Teams have come from
England, Ireland, Scotland, France,
Spain, Portugal, Germany, Hungary,
Egypt, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa,
India, Australia, New Zealand, Chile,
Argentina, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Barbados,
Canada,
and making its debut this year are the Dominican Republic

138 at Glen Farm, just 6 miles north of Newport in the Town of

The Polo Series is one of New England's most popular summer attractions
and oldest traditions, continuing a tradition of
international polo begun over 130 years ago in Newport, home of
the first polo club in America.

Register to win exciting door prizes each
week and enter our
Tailgate Contests.
 Its classical stone barns from the height of the Gilded Age
and its park-like grounds were acquired by the Town of Portsmouth in the
early '90's who, in turn, gave a 25-year old developer
named Dan Keating the chance to rescue it from ruins and
rehabilitate the property, which thrives today as a vital
equestrian and recreational property for the community and
the jewel of Portsmouth.

Do bring your 4-legged
friends, on a leash, if they are well-behaved in public.

Don't leave their calling
card on the grounds!

Do bring a tailgate picnic
and cooler with beverages.

Don't leave your trash on the
polo grounds unless securely placed into trash canisters
provided on the polo grounds or into the trash
recepticals along the exit drive near
the top of Glen Farm.

Smoking is only tolerated as long
as it is not in the immediate vicinity of others, and the
butts are not left on the grounds
-
Grilling is tolerated as long
as the coals are not dumped on the grounds!

Do come early if you wish to
secure your favorite tailgate parking spot.
-
Pop-up tents are permitted,
up to 10' x 12'. Anything larger requires a tent
permit from the Town of Portsmouth and expressed permission
from Newport Polo.

Don't take up more space than
you need or leave your vehicle/picnic furniture unattended
on the polo grounds.
